We are excited to welcome your child as a first-year student at Northeastern Illinois University! Congratulations! This is a big step in your child’s academic and professional career, and we encourage you to participate in our Orientation for students and families.
Family Orientation is a part of First-Year Orientation, and it provides a few presentations to emphasize the importance of family involvement and support in a student’s life.
Family encouragement and support play a crucial role in ensuring a student’s academic success. The more knowledgeable you are about Northeastern’s college experience, the better prepared you will be to support your student's educational goals.

Please keep in mind that there is no cost for Family Orientation, but your child will be assessed a $70 non-refundable fee for First-Year Orientation, which is added to his or her first semester’s tuition bill.
Complimentary parking is available for Family and First-Year Orientations on the 5th floor of the Parking Facility. Please view our Campus Map and Directions page for driving directions.

Family Orientation is held jointly with First-Year Orientation on the Main Campus.
Family Orientation is held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Check in is in the Student Union, Alumni Hall.
