Is the Fall 2020 semester cancelled? (added May 5)

Northeastern will offer a full complement of classes in the Fall 2020 semester.

Will the Fall 2020 semester classes be taught in person? (added May 5)

At this time, no determination has been made on how classes will be delivered for Fall 2020.

What are the next steps I should take to enroll in classes? (added May 5)

Visit Next Steps for Admitted Students and click the First-Year Students box to view the steps needed to complete your enrollment. Successfully completing Step 4 on the list will alert an advisor to contact you so that you can enroll in classes for the fall.

How do I access my Financial Aid Award Letter? (added May 5)

To view your award letter, log in to your NEIUport account and click the “My Financial Aid” tab. If you are selected for verification, you will see a list of missing documents that need to be submitted to the Financial Aid Office.

When will I take a placement test? (added May 5)

Placement testing has been postponed until a time when it is safe to administer. We anticipate this will be late summer prior to the start of fall classes. In the meantime, remember to practice for your test by using our Placement Test Preparation resources. Practice, practice, practice! 

When will I participate in New Student Orientation? (added May 5)

The NEIU Orientation Team is currently working to offer an online orientation. Students who are registered for classes for the Fall 2020 will be contacted once plans have been finalized.

Am I able to defer my enrollment to Spring or Fall 2021? If so, how? (added May 5)

Yes, students can change the semester they would like to begin and move it up to one academic year. Students can log into their application portal and fill out the deferral section (recommended) or complete a deferral request form and send it to defer-admission@neiu.edu. Students are only able to defer once per application.

I’ve decided that I am not able to attend NEIU. What should I do? (added May 5)

We’re sorry to hear you will not be joining our vibrant community at this time. Please take a moment to make it official by filling out the Not Attending form and we will remove you from the incoming class of 2020.
