I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, Weston Polaski, Coordinator of Northeastern Illinois University's Veterans Services Office. I have the honor of serving in this capacity and, as a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and the Iraq War, I understand the challenges of transitioning from the battlefield to the classroom.
I also want to introduce Joshua Perschbacher. Joshua serves as the Veterans Admissions/Outreach Specialist. He is a veteran of the United States Navy having made two deployments aboard the USS CARL VINSON in support of OEF/OIF operations.
Josh and I are always ready and willing to meet with any veteran, active duty, and/or dependent(s) planning to enter or re-enter higher education and to answer any questions that you may have.
The Veterans Services office, located in the Enrollment Services, which is fully staffed by veterans helping other veterans or military-connected students. The staff, therefore, have gone through the majority, if not all, of the processes required to obtain and use military benefits. Veterans Services is responsible for providing assistance and information to veterans attending and/or planning to attend Northeastern. This includes but is not limited to helping a veteran apply for admission to the university, apply for and use federal and state benefits, as well as providing general, non-academic university advice.
Northeastern Illinois University is a public, four-year institution offering over 80 undergraduate and graduate programs. Many of our programs are specifically focused on adult and nontraditional students. Our Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies is a Service Members Opportunity College program, allowing for maximum transfer credit flexibility, although all of our programs accept transfer credits.
Please feel free to contact us or to pass our contact information to any military-connected individual considering Northeastern Illinois University.
